    Re: There's Always The Weather

There is so much snow that the plows can't push it all to the curb. Instead, the snow mounds are about 18 inches away from the curb. With cars parked on both sides, a fire engine can't get through. So Minneapolis and St Paul have instituted a ban on parking on the even numbered side of most streets.

It was a scary experience this weekend with the snow. We were developing ice dams on the roof, especially at the bottom of the valleys. Got my 65 year old ass up on that roof with a shovel and a roof rake, and cleared most of the roof - hanging on for dear life on a 12 incline roof. At the peak it is three stories, and only 4-5 feet of snow on the ground to cushion an impact. To hell with winter and the snowiest February on record here.

10 degrees F below tonight.... And I continue to live here!

I can't figure out why you live "there",
when you could be with the departed, Riverwind / River
    in Hawai'i.

    Rain now and then.
Wednesday suppose to be a good one.

Caught a squirrel in my live capture cage and released
on the other side of the water, in case they have homing systems.
It's the saffron crocus eating rabbit I'm after. All my saffron, gone.

We got another 6 inches of snow after 2 inches of rain. Couldn't even get out of the driveway - didn't have a MN-DOT plow this time to make the way clear. I'll wait for my snow guy, and hope they can help push me out. OTOH, the princess made it home after 2-1/2 shifts and five cardiac emergencies. That is what happens when you are the practitioner on duty. At least he stopped on the way home to eat and have a bloody. I would have joined him if I could have gotten out. Oh well, had a screw driver - at least I got my OJ.

Light snow this morning. Cleared and cold wind in the afternoon. Saw the first little cockroach scurrying across the tile, so summer must be on the way.

So sorry for you. That is a tiny part of humanity that is everywhere. So are wonderful people, which fill New Zealand.

    Any Wildflowers yet?
    Green landscapes rarely seen.

Here just 55 - 74 with dry air, bright cloudless skies and snow in the
    distance on the mountains.
The hills greened very quickly while the trees barely are greening.
Not wildflower country unless an isolated specimen or mustard counts.
    It don't

Took a drive yesterday to the Verde Valley (Jerome, Sedona, etc). A summer sky, not winter. Beautiful blue sky with lots of puffy cumulus clouds and a cell off to the east with dark blue bottom (rain) and whispy tops reaching up and up.

It's been sunny and 50F here, but with wind. The wind feels like it's right off a glacier.

    Extended "moderate" weather
    with a brief warm up.

The Loquats are about all ripened and the
    Apricot tree blossoms are finishing.

    Relocated 2 squirrels.

Anyone got some of that 40F drop in temperature I read about?
    Snow?
    Hail?
    Freezing Rain?
    Flood?

    How about wildflowers ?

    Re: There's Always The Weather

We had ~55 and sun, then it fell to 35 and we got an unexpected inch of heavy, wet snow. It was gone in a few hours, though. It was only 40 today, sunny, but windy and just miserable.

Took a jacket with my for a quick trip to CA and a bit into OR. Left on Friday and on return flight yesterday afternoon the pilot announced Phoenix temp was a balmy 92 degrees. Supposed to drop off 10-20 degrees during next ten days.

    Just very "moderate" weather.

Early bloomers are dropping blossom petals
and late bloomers still pondering waking up.
The loquats are super sweet this year. Plentiful.
